Manchester City had beaten Sevilla to the ground during the start of this Champions League season. This is all thanks to their new star player, the Norwegian Haaland. He helped his team score twice during the match.

He then tapped in Kevin de Bruyne’s driving cross in order to score his ninth goal within five games. Yassine Bounou, Sevilla’s goalkeeper parried Foden’s attempt at scoring in hopes to delay the opposing team’s chance to score.

Regardless of the parring, Foden managed to score later on, and the midfielder gave a lead in their openers. He then messed around with Gudelj, the defender for Sevilla before scoring another goal using his left foot.

During their last match, Erling Haaland had instilled terror in Sevilla fans whenever he got up and moved on the field. According to the British news, the stadium was quiet to the point where it seemed the stadium was empty.

Manchester City’s manager Pep Guardiola said, “I think his [Haaland] numbers in all his career, even in previous teams, is quite similar.”

“He has an incredible sense of goal. We have incredible numbers in terms of goals and we need to continue like that. Another battle against Tottenham and hopefully we can continue.”

Regardless of the other team members in Manchester City, Haaland is one of the biggest threats that Sevilla has when fighting the team. He even managed to catch De Bruyne’s pass and gave City the lead just within 20 minutes.

During the second half of the match, the counterattack that began with Haaland and De Bruyne had finished with De Bruyne attempting to score a goal. Unfortunately for him, City’s goalkeeper managed to catch the ball right on time.

Sevilla had a good start, however after the 11th minute with City’s determination to win, both fans knew that it would be a long match. The last time City played against Sevilla in their home stadium was seven years ago and Wilfried Bony scored in a victory against Sevilla.

However, Bony has since left City after struggling with his then new manager Guardiola. Regardless, Guardiola’s current team is solid and he has trained them well to control the ball against the opposing team.

Haaland is the player giving hope to City fans in order for them to pursue European glory by potentially winning the Champions League. He had an amazing start for the team scoring 12 goals within only 8 games.
