Darwin Nunez

It is rare to see a large corporation getting involved with the mishap of Premier League players. However, Domino’s Pizza recently made fun of Darwin Nunez the striker for Liverpool had yet another difficult night scoring goals in the Reds’ 3-1 loss to Brentford on Monday.

Nunez, 23, set a record for Liverpool when he signed from Benfica in the summer in a deal that might go to £85 million, but he hasn’t quite lived up to the hype. The Uruguayan international has scored nine goals in 22 games, although some have criticised him for squandering good opportunities.

During the setback against the Bees, the Reds attacker had a goal-bound attempt stopped by Ben Mee close to the line and another strike disallowed by VAR. To make matters worse, he was viciously criticised online by well-known fast-food business Domino’s.

The tweet is the most recent ironic allusion to some of the great opportunities Nunez has passed up since relocating to Merseyside. As of the time of writing, it had received over 38,000 likes and 1.6 million views.

No player in the Premier League has missed more significant opportunities than Nunez has thus far this season, according to a statistic that surfaced during the game. Nunez has missed 15 such opportunities.

Speculations that Jurgen Klopp should be concerned about one of their leading strikers missing the opportunity to score are being debated on social media. It is still pretty bleak to see a chance of the Reds winning this year’s Premier League.

The tweet about Nunez

The comments were mainly about Domino’s menu. Complaints of them removing a specific item from their menu generated a lot of traction. Fans were annoyed at the company for tweeting out jokes about their beloved player.

Fan tweets about Nunez’s missed opportunities were also gaining traction. A tweet that showed a compilation of his missed scores received almost 300,000 views. Fans claimed that his finishing can be improved, however, how many chances does he need in order to improve his game skills?

Hard-core fans are claiming that once his skills are improved, those that mocked Nunez will immediately remove these videos that are against him. Some are claiming that all the luck is directed to Haaland instead of him.

Other fans claimed that the missed opportunities to score should be unacceptable as he is a good player. There are those that claimed that his missed opportunities are understandable as a player in his positioning on the field would be going through difficulties to score.
