Warriors

In the midst of all the off-season trade talks and hoopla, Shams Charania of The Athletic broke the news on X back in September that the NBA is close to finalizing preparations for the Golden State Warriors to host the 2025 All-Star Weekend.

Via Charania: The NBA is nearing plans for the Golden State Warriors (Chase Center) to host 2025 All-Star Weekend, sources tell @TheAthletic@Stadium. This upcoming season’s All-Star Weekend is in Indianapolis.

And its confirmation news finally came at the end of October, with Bloomberg reporting the news on X, stating, “The NBA has chosen the Golden State Warriors and the team’s Chase Center in San Francisco as host for the 2025 All-Star Game and weekend activities, according to a person familiar with the matter.”

Coming back home

The NBA-All Star Weekend, which takes place every year and brings together the best players in the league to compete in one arena, is one of the league’s most anticipated events outside of the playoffs. Since it was first held in the Boston Garden in 1951, the event has only been hosted by the Warriors once, in 2000.

And finally, after a 25-year wait, the Warriors were chosen to host the event once more, this time at their recently constructed Chase Center.

Chase Center

The renowned, cutting-edge facility first opened its doors to the public in 2019. And in its first year of operations, it has already garnered seven distinctions and awards, most prominently the “Sports Facility of the Year”, which was awarded by the Sports Business Journal.

Taking pride in their accomplishment, Warriors President Rick Welts expressed his thoughts on clinching the prestigious award, stating that the award was a testament to the hard work, vision, and planning that went into creating Chase Center into a premier sports and entertainment destination.

“Chase Center sets the bar when it comes to an immersive fan experience and world-class NBA team amenities,” Welts said, as per the NBA.

In addition to its stunning architecture and massive seating of 18,064, the building is also home to the largest Centerhung LED display in the League, ensuring that fans seated in the stands can still view the action from a distance.
