Every great athlete has optimism ingrained in their bones. Their belief and positive thinking helped them get to the top.
And this quality was exactly what Jimmy Butler exemplified in a press conference last Tuesday when he spoke about Miami Heat.

So far, things aren’t going well for the Miami Heat, who’s down 1-4 into the regular season. The only win they’ve had so far is against the Detroit Pistons, which they barely escaped 103-102.
And for the rest of their next games with the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks, and Brooklyn Nets, the Heat suffered a devastating four straight losses. And was this a source of concern for some supporters? Yes.
But is Butler worried? Not in the slightest.
In the recently held press conference, Jimmer appeared unfazed about their current tally and stated that he’s still confident about his team.
“I think it’s still a work in progress. Last year was last year. It’s completely different this year in a number of ways and we will figure it out, gotta get better…. I’m still very confident in this group. I really am. I know what we’re capable of and I know that we can win. So, we just got to go out there and we’ve got to do what we’re supposed to do.”

Butler posted a 20-point, seven-rebound performance on Wednesday night, displaying a more aggressive demeanor than at any other point in the regular season. He was able to make seven of his sixteen attempts, as well as six of his eight free throws, as per Zachary Weinberger of Clutchpoints.
Last season
This was not Butler’s first time expressing his confidence in the midst of Heat’s bleak future. Last season, before their match-up with the Celtics in Game 7, Butler remained steadfast in his belief that they could overcome their opponent, the Celtics, which had previously won three of the Eastern Conference finals.
“When we huddle up after the game, after a tough loss like this one, everybody is smiling because we know we’re very capable of it, I’m telling you, and we are not going to let up,” Butler told the media after the Heat’s Game 6 loss.
The odds were stacked against the Heat during that moment, but despite all the rumors and concerns, Butler never gave up until the very end, demonstrating his optimism and resilience in the face of adversity.
