LeBron James gave props to the newly-released documentary of Barry Sanders, ‘Bye, Bye, Barry.’
Beyond basketball, Lebron James leads a fulfilling life as a loving husband, father to his two children, philanthropist, watch collector, and, of course, football fan like most Americans. And one of his favorite players of all time is Barry Sanders.
Before playing in the Lakers’ next game, James took the time out of his busy schedule to watch the highly anticipated Barry Sanders’ documentary entitled ‘Bye Bye Barry’.

And much like every other Barry Sanders fan out there, Lebron James was left ‘emotional’. The four-time NBA champ then swiftly took to X (formerly Twitter) to give props to the documentary.

Bye, Bye, Barry Sanders
Barry Sanders is arguably the best running back in NFL history. Although he played for the Detroit Lions, one of the underdog teams during the ‘90s, Sanders’ skills stood out and outshone those who were on the winning teams. For the onlookers, his abilities were simply unfathomable, and he essentially carried the team.
He won the prestigious Heisman Trophy in college, went on to have five seasons with at least 1500 rushing yards, and was only the third player in NFL history to achieve 2000-rush yards in a single season. Although the team made one trip to the NFC championship game in 1991, they never got to see the light of day and win a Super Bowl.
Still, Barry was only 31 years old, and he was still at the helm. However, the day before he embarked on his 11th season, he announced his retirement in a fax to
the Wichita Eagle, the local newspaper, crushing thousands of Detroit Lions fans.
Many rumors about his retirement circulated around that time, but Sanders quickly departed for London, so the supporters never really received a clear response. In an effort to address the subject that has been bothering audiences for more than two decades, the documentary “Bye, Bye, Barry” focuses mostly on the events that preceded Sanders’ departure.
