The current T20 captain who has urged the Bangladesh community said that he is not expecting any miracles from his side in the Asia Cup 2022. But they all are set to knock off their horns from the 27th of August. Furthermore, he mentioned that he is aiming his main goal is to prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.
Bangladesh is going to compete against Sri Lanka and they’re going to travel to UAE for the upcoming Asia Cup on the back of a poor run in the shortest format of the game where Shakib will give the other chance at the captaincy after Mahmudullah’s three-year reign finished earlier this year.

When the captain was asked about the preparation for the Asia Cup he said “I have no goals, my only aim is that we can do well in the T20 World Cup and these are the preparation for it, the things won’t change in one or two days, or else that someone else needs to do it, then we are living in the fool’s Kingdom. If you think practically our true development will be seen when the team performance will improve and they will do well in the World Cup in upcoming three months”
Since last year Bangladesh has won just two 20-over matches in Oman and UAE and their most recent series triumph in the shortest format game which was 12 months ago against New Zealand at home.
Bangladesh has never won the Asia Cup, but 3 times they have ended up as the runner-up at the event in the years 2012, 2016, and 2018.
