kylian mbappe

Kylian Mbappe will play this season for Paris Saint-Germain, the club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has unequivocally confirmed in a thrilling turn of events.

The star forward was reinstated in the first-team squad and trained with the team on Sunday (August 13) after missing out on the preseason Asian tour and opening Ligue 1 fixture, a goalless draw with Lorient.

Club president Al-Khelaifi told the PSG players on Sunday morning, “Kylian is committed to PSG. Kylian is back.”

Later, PSG said on social media, “Following very constructive and positive discussions between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe before the PSG – Lorient game, the player has been reinstated into the first team training squad this morning,” an article from sky sports mentioned.

There is speculation that Kylian Mbappe’s contract will be extended till 2025.

Mbappe’s current deal expires in 2024.

PSG accepted a £258 million bid for the French international from Al Hilal last month, but Mbappe rejected the one-year move to Saudi Arabia.

However, the Brazilian international Neymar may move from Paris to Saudi Arabia.

PSG are currently negotiating Neymar’s transfer with Al Hilal.

Neymar, who was originally purchased for a record £200 million, might now bring in a large amount, helping PSG comply with financial fair play rules.

Neymar’s importance to the new coach Luis Enrique’s plan appears to have diminished as he approaches his 31st birthday, leading PSG to refocus their recruiting efforts on a younger, more competitive group of players.
