Forward Hilary Knight, who was recently named captain for the upcoming 2023 IIHF Women’s World Championship, will unquestionably play a major role in the team’s success.

As a participant in multiple international competitions and a professional athlete for Team Sonnet, Knight is accustomed to working under pressure (PWHPA).

At a young age, Knight developed a passion for hockey. The first time she played the sport, she remembers earning buttons for completing a whole ice circuit on her skate laces. Her favorite moment to date was earning gold with her US teammates at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Knight’s prior Olympic bids had failed, so the victory was extra gratifying for her.

In terms of rinks, Knight has a particular soft spot for Seattle’s Climate Promise Arena, noting the fervent crowd and the buzzing environment as important factors. The next World Championship is clearly where Knight is concentrating her attention.

Knight voiced her joy in an interview at the thought of once again representing her nation on the international scene. As a result of recent failures, she emphasized the team’s desire to succeed in the event. Knight’s leadership will be crucial in helping the group achieve this objective, both on and off the ice.

All eyes will be on Knight and her colleagues as they compete on the ice as spectators worldwide prepare for the tournament.

As the 2023 U.S. Women’s National Team prepares for the IIHF Women’s World Championship, excitement is pervasive.

Three players were chosen to serve as the US team’s alternate captains for the IIHF Women’s World Championship in addition to Knight. Lee Stecklein of Roseville, Minnesota, Megan Keller of Farmington Hills, Michigan, and Alex Carpenter of North Reading, Massachusetts.
