To improve the visual attractiveness of the city during the Men’s Hockey World Cup in January 2023, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Bhubaneswar Development Authorities (BDA), and the works department will work together to complete a major plan to give the city a makeover.
The Bhubaneswar Urban Knowledge Center’s planners are responsible for creating the plan (BUKC).
Balwant Singh, the vice-chairman of the BDA, recently visited a number of sizable parks to establish plans for the renovation. Vijay Kulange, the commissioner of the BMC, has been to the locations of the mentioned eyesores.
Bhubaneswar’s massive renovation plans
“It’ll be a makeover tailored to the location. The intervention will be carried out there if that location needs mural paintings. In some locations, the service road needs to be redesigned and separated. Kids’ slides and fixed backrests may be available in some locations.
“These beautification ideas were created with the problems of drainage, waterlogging, and cleanliness in mind. We must have well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing parking lots,” as stated by the BMC commissioner.
Several highways in the city will have cutting-edge plantations. There will be stylish plaza signage with arrows pointing to eateries, parking, a taxi stand, and a bus stop.
In addition to this, there will be seasonal trees and creative shrubbery. Near some vending zones, sufficient public space will be developed. There will be sculptures that portray team pride in order to create a sporting atmosphere.
Bus stops will get creeper plantations, and artwork and stamp designs will be added to make them even more attractive. In some specific locations, spider lily plantations will be used to make grass pavers.
To ensure that the work is finished on time, duties have been assigned to the BDA and BMC engineering wings. The BSCL adopted a cycle track in the lead-up to the 2018–19 Mens’ Hockey World Cup. Stay tuned with us to get the latest sports details and news on our page.
