Furthermore, there are positive talks that are ongoing with David de Gea regarding a new contract that would reduce his base pay from approximately £300,000 per week.

Rashford, Shaw, Dalot, and Fred would have been free in January to discuss moves to foreign clubs if United had not chosen to take up the 12-month options that are standard in their contracts for players under 30.
De Gea is one of United’s highest-paid employees, therefore they want the Spaniard to sign a deal that pays him less each month but has significant incentives rather than extending his tenure by a year.
Unfortunately, rumours about Manchester United’s plans for next summer is that Fred is almost certainly going to be sold. However, the agreement allows United to charge a fee.
There haven’t been any talks with Shaw about a new deal, but it would be surprising if Ten Hag approved of any proposals for the 27-year-old defender. Rashford and Dalot, both of whom have experienced a noticeable improvement in form under Ten Hag this season, may also be examples of this.
