Manchester United

Manchester United has gotten themselves into some hot waters under their direction from Erik ten Hag. Oddly enough, this problem occurred when Ronaldo was “off” the team for his “misbehaviour” during their match against Tottenham.

According to SkySports, the club was charged with breaking the rule E20.1. The charge is related to them failing to properly conduct their players during the 84th minute in their match against Chelsea. On top of it all, they have only until tomorrow to respond on what actions or next steps would need to be taken.

Manchester United fans are angry at the charge

On Facebook, a Manchester United fan club posted the news and the fans are not too excited about it. Fans claimed that the FA has always had it out for the club and are trying everything they can to charge them while closing a blind eye to other clubs.

“They should charge Chelsea for going naked on the field instead,” remarked a netizen. Another fan commented jokingly that United will be charged for having a clean sheet next. More speculative charge jokes related to small problems such as breathing on the field would be charged to the team next.

Fans questioned why the “fake” referees are not charged for their misconduct to the team. This question is a legitimate one as even Chelsea fell victim to this situation a few months back which sparked a feud between Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte.

The irony was that Tuchel was then charged by the FA for his lashing out. It has been a recurring problem where the FA would make biassed judgments that are obviously unfair. What is the point of having rules where others are allowed to break them, but when one team breaks it they get charged.

“Second game in a row they’ve been charged I swear ? Every other team does the same thing and nothing happens”, said a netizen. It appears that even supporters of other clubs are agreeing with Manchester United fans on this.

Questions arose on the referees, Manchester United fans are stating that they should perform their job better rather than just pinning blame on a club. They are also stating that the FA should look into the referees and the video assist referee instead. It is no secret that they have made grave mistakes recently.

However, many understand that the FA are the ones that hired these referees. For obvious reasons they will do whatever they can to protect their staff instead of the clubs and players. It is unfair, but we have seen it happening a number of times.

According to the Manchester Evening news the rule E20.1 states, “Each Affiliated Association, Competition and Club shall be responsible for ensuring that its Directors, players, officials, employees, servants, representatives, conduct themselves in an orderly fashion whilst attending any Match and do not use words or otherwise behave in a way which is improper, offensive, violent, threatening, abusive, indecent, insulting or provocative.”
