Harry Kane has scored more goals for a single team in the Premier League’s history. This happened after a victory for Tottenham against the Wolverhampton Wanderers. Tottenham, similar to Arsenal, has been on a streak early in the season.

Tottenham defeated the Wolves at a 1-0 score on Saturday, thus maintaining their pristine record so far. This is also after winning against Southampton and having a draw with Chelsea which lead to their respective coaches having an argument.

Harry Kane has also increased his goal tally to 185. Even previous high scorer Sergio Aguero had 184 goals and he played for Manchester City for about 10 seasons. Kane has beaten two records at the same time, which is for his own personal record and the team’s record.

He scored the 1000th goal and since 1992, only five other teams have reached this record, namely, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. Tottenham has officially joined their ranks now.

According to reports, Kane has officially moved ahead of Aguero in the category of the all-time leading scorers. Now he is only two goals behind striker Andrew Cole, who has played for Newcastle, Blackburn and Manchester United.

The highest scorer in the English Premier League is Alan Shearer, who currently has 260 goals under his belt. This means that Kane still needs to score 76 more goals in order to beat Shearer’s record.

To beat that record, Kane needs to score 13 goals for each season for the next six years. This would also depend on how long he would continue to be a striker. He is currently 29 years old, not as young as a lot of the players in the league.

Furthermore, as stated by the BBC, Kane has the best scoring ratio of (0.70) per game, placing him forward against Thierry Henry (0.68) and Sergio Aguero (0.67) who are the best scorers this season. However, Shearer has the highest ratio at (0.81). He achieved that by scoring 112 goals in 138 games while being in one club.

Antonio Conte, Tottenham’s current coach has been an admirer of Kane even before his tenure at Tottenham. While he was handling Chelsea back in 2017, he stated his intention to work with Kane. However, times have changed and they’re working together in a different club.

For me, Kane, now, is one of the best strikers in the world. If I had to buy one striker I would go to Kane, right. He is a complete striker. He is strong physically, with the ball, without the ball, he fights and he’s strong in the air and acrobatic on the right and the left. He’s a complete player,” as said by Conte back in 2017.
