Josh Little

The Irish teenager, Josh Little, made a significant admission about his decision to leave Chennai Super Kings in the 2022 Indian Premier League after just two weeks.

In the 2022 Indian Premier League, the Chennai Super Kings had a hit-and-miss season and came in ninth place, which was disappointing. The team’s iconic wicketkeeper-batsman, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, gave captaincy of the team to Ravindra Jadeja prior to the start of the season.

However, Dhoni took over when Jadeja resigned from the position in the middle of the campaign. That controversy, it turns out, was not the only one from CSK’s season.

Josh, the 23-year-old star from Ireland, has recently admitted that he departed the team just two weeks after joining them. It appears that this was because he was being used as a “net bowler” to fill in for other bowlers when they became “weary.”

Josh’s remarks

“I was told that it was something that it wasn’t,” he claimed. ‘I’m a net bowler, so there’s a chance I’ll play if someone gets hurt, I was informed before leaving. However, I was unable to bowl when I wanted. When I only had two overs during a training session, I would exclaim, ‘Two overs, I’m halfway around the world here!’

Josh then stated, “My playing in the Lankan Premier League and T10, together with the fact that I had a successful year behind me, may have made me foolish.”

“Since I play cricket for my country, it didn’t feel appropriate. The other males were eager to participate because they had never received that kind of exposure. I was like “get me out of here” when I learned I was a net bowler who had to bowl at someone when the slingers were worn out, which is probably why they won’t ever hire me again because I left after two weeks,” he expressed.

However, the Irish teenager will be offered at the Indian Premier League auction on December 23. Little, who has 62 wickets in 53 T20Is to date and has played for Dambulla Giants in the Lankan Premier League, has the support of former Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina, who has also endorsed Little as one of the auction’s top prospects. Also a member of The Hundred, Little represented Manchester Originals there.
