Alabama advanced to the program’s first-ever Final Four of March Madness, following the defending champion, UConn. Alabama continued its remarkable run in this season’s tournament while making milestones, obtaining victory over No. 6 Clemson with a record of 89-82. 

Guard Mark Sears led the club with 23 points. He began the game o for 7, including 0 for 4 from three.  With just over four minutes remaining in the first half, he scored his first points of the match. After that, Sears made eight of his subsequent eleven shots, including seven of his previous ten three-pointers. He then stated that he ‘lives for these moments.’

He admitted: “This is what March Madness is about. You know, when you are a kid, you want to be in these moments and it felt like my dream came true today. My dream came true today.”

In other news, the reigning national champions, UConn, defeated No. 3 Illinois with a score of 77-52. The Huskies had a competitive first half but then went on a 30-0 run to secure their second straight Final Four appearance.

Dan Hurley, the head coach of the Huskies, complimented his team when asked about the run following the game. He stated: “It was a special level of basketball that we were playing.”
